Tony evaluates the couples
Let’s see what I think about the new cast! Personally, I think it’s a close one! Also, sorry these won’t be as in depth
as they have been. School has me drained!
HELENA BONHAM CARTER & TRISTAN MACMANUS
I not her biggest fan, but I do like her work. I don’t really see her being stellar in either Ballroom or Latin, but I feel like she’ll have the fan base to make it a couple weeks at the very least.
BRYAN CRANSTON & KYM JOHNSON
Sadly, our reigning champ doesn’t have much of a shot at repeating that win this season. Like Helena, I see Bryan being pretty poor in both styles of dance. I don’t know if he’s got any Breaking Bad fans amongst the DWTSGame voters. If he doesn’t, it’s an early out for Kym.
JAMIE FOXX & CHERYL BURKE
I’m happy to see Cheryl finally get an able partner since Sasha Mitchell. I think Jamie has the potential to be an awesome dancer! Ballroom might give him some issues, but I don’t think they won’t be awful. I really would want to see his Latin dances. I think he can make Semi-Finals easy.
JENNIFER GARNER & DEREK HOUGH
Well I think Jennifer’s potential would be the opposite of Jamie: She’ll be a fantastic Ballroom dancer. I think she could also pull of a few decent Latin dances too. The biggest one I see being her problem is the Samba. But these two could make it far as well!
KATE HUDSON & TONY DOVOLANI
I think I’m going to go ahead and put my money on Kate as the Season 12 Champ. She can act, she can sing, and I’ve seen her dance on Glee. Let me tell you, Kate’s the complete package and she’s going to be the one to beat this season.
KASEY KAHNE & PETA MURGATROYD
I’ve never heard of Kasey, actually. And I fear that’ll be the issue with everyone else that votes for the DWTSGame. I think he pairs nicely with Peta, but I see him being stiff in both Ballrom and Latin. He’ll likely be the first to be eliminated.
STANA KATIC & MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY
100%, without a doubt, the hottest couple of Season 12! I’ve lost my interest in Maks on the real show, but I love the idea of Stana with Maks. I think these two could be dark horses! Ballroom will be kinder to her than Latin, but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see these two make at least the Quarter-Finals.
DEMI LOVATO & MARK BALLAS
Another natural pair, I think. Demi’s got a lot going for her right now, and I think the show would actually be a good thing to continue her recovery from her previous bout of illness. I think she could be another contender for the trophy!
We’ll have to see how she does!
CHARLIE MCDERMOTT & LINDSAY ARNOLD
Sadly, Lindsay didn’t exactly live up to expectations on the real show, so my excitement for her has dwindled. And I fear that with a bland partner in Charlie, this season won’t be kind to her. And I think Charlie is just that. Bland. If I were to watch him on the real show, I have no doubt I would forget about him be the end of the show.
PAUL RUDD & ANNA TREBUNSKAYA
I think these two have my stamp as “Favorite Couple” this season. Do I see Paul being a great dancer? No. But I think he could be entertaining and I think Anna doesn’t get as much credit as she deserves sometimes! I hope these two have the juice to make it a few weeks past the first elimination!
MARK SALLING & KARINA SMIRNOFF
Another Glee star! I have to say, these two make an interesting couple. But I think Karina would be the right teacher for him. I don’t remember his dance talent on Glee, but I don’t think he could be horrible. Karina is a fantastic choreographer, so I think he would be in good hands. Plus, if he has half the following Matthew Morrison had, I think he’ll make it far too!
SHONTELLE & HENRY BYALIKOV
Shontelle is another dark horse for me. I can’t really say how well she could do. I think she could be a fantastic dancer, but I’m iffy on how big her fan base would be. Really, this season’s cast is so tight, that I won’t be able to call anything with certainty until the season gets started.
RINGO STARR & LACEY SCHWIMMER
The nostalgic favorite for sure! I think he and Lacey pair up fairly well. I think he could be decent, but not great. The good thing about Lacey is that she doesn’t dance around her partners. At least, that’s what I remember. She really needs to go back to the real show! Anyway, I think these two will be safe after the first couple eliminations, but they
could be in danger after that.
CHANDRA WILSON & VALENTIN CHMERKOVSKIY
If Stana & Maks were the hottest, then these two are the cutest couple of Season 12! I get a Sherri Shepherd vibe from Chandra. I don’t think she’d be fantastic, but I think she’ll have a lot of personality and will really be able to use her acting chops to give us some awesome dances!
